6th Grade Science ONLINE

Science 600 is a basic intermediate course intended to expose students to the designs and patterns in God’s physical universe. This 6th grade homeschool curriculum expands on the Science 300-500 elementary courses, providing a broad survey of the major areas of science. Some of the areas covered in Science 600 include the study of plant and animal systems, plant and animal behavior, genetics, the structure of matter, light and sound, kinematics, planet Earth, the solar system, and astronomy. The homeschool 6th grade course seeks to develop the student’s ability to understand and participate in scientific inquiry. Students in sixth grade science in our Homeschool Advantage program will do their science labs online with Smart Science Online Labs while those in the Homeschool Edition will work their labs as presented in the curriculum.

Sixth grade students examine the human body, are introduced to chemistry, and explore space and the physical atmosphere as they progress through on and off-computer lessons and experiments in this engaging course. Students will look at the world around them and examine the systems of the body, molecular genetics of animals and plants, chemical structure, and light and sound, and motion measurement. This online school 6th grade course sparks passion for science with lessons that incorporate biblical concepts and Bible verses into the curriculum, helping them to understand God’s relationship to the world in which we live.
