Welcome to My Class
—Welcome to My Class – Mrs. Christy Champion—
My Classroom At NFC Academy

My husband, Eric, and I have been married for 27 years. We have three children—Stone, Olivia, and Riley. Olivia is married to our son-in-law, Alex, and they have a one-year-old daughter named Emmy. My husband and I have been serving as missionaries in Costa Rica for the past 13 years. In my free time, I enjoy reading, taking walks with our Great Dane, Indy, and beach trips. One of my favorite trips was traveling to Italy—if you ever get the chance, go!
Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to be a teacher—just like my mom and several other members of my family. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Tennessee Temple University in 1998. I started out teaching 1st grade at North Florida Christian School, but eventually found my sweet spot in 4th grade, which quickly became home for me.
In 2011, I stepped away from the classroom as our family followed God’s call to the mission field. My husband, our children, and I moved to Costa Rica, where we’ve been serving ever since. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to continue teaching math classes online—it allows me to keep doing what I love while living out our family’s calling.
I enjoy teaching elementary and middle school students! For those taking math classes, supplies are pretty simple. I recommend having a dedicated notebook just for math—it’s a great place to write down rules, work through problems, and keep track of important notes.
For students in 6th and 7th grade math, I also recommend having a ruler and a protractor on hand to help with geometry work.
And don’t forget to check out the math videos linked in the academic guides on the Academy website! They’re a great resource if you ever need extra help understanding a lesson.
