Faith Foundations

Faith Foundations is a semester-long, required course for all first-year high school students. In it, students will explore basic Christian beliefs and learn to express what they believe through the writing of a personal credo. Instead of presenting the doctrinal position of just one denomination, students will be exposed to a variety of orthodox Christian beliefs and helped to search the Scriptures as they decide for themselves what they believe. This course will introduce students to the importance and practice of theology as they learn how their beliefs impact daily living. Students can expect to discover answers to questions such as: Why should I submit to the authority of the Bible? Who is God? What is salvation, and how can I receive it? Why is the Church important? How will Jesus Christ return?
