Selecting Courses in Middle SchoolÂ
Students entering eighth grade who have successfully completed advanced mathematics in seventh grade may be considered for enrollment in Algebra I for high school credit. Eligibility is determined by prior academic performance and teacher or advisor recommendation. There is no additional fee for students who advance or change levels within the standard mathematics course sequence.
World Languages courses are available as an elective option for Middle School students. Students who choose to enroll in a World Language course in addition to their regular course load will be responsible for the corresponding additional course fee, as outlined in the course cost schedule for their selected program.
Because course placement is an important decision that can influence a student’s long-term academic success, families are strongly encouraged to consult with an NFC Academy Enrollment Specialist. The specialist can help determine whether advanced placement math or the addition of a World Language course is the best option for the student. Prior to a student beginning their coursework you will receive a copy of the Academic Plan for the year to review and approve. Once approved, the student will be enrolled in the schedule as outlined in the Academic Plan. Courses are activated when the cost for the course program is paid or the first payment is made if following our payment plan.
- Middle School typically is five core courses and cost are noted as either an annual payment or a monthly payment for a year with 10 payments.
- Changing from Math 800 to Algebra I, there is no additional cost.
- Adding a 6th course in Middle School from the available course selection list:
- Homeschool Advantage the cost is $622 for the additional course, or adds $65 to the monthly payment option.
- Homeschool Edition the cost is $473 for the additional course, or adds $47 to the monthly payment option.
- Homeschool Basics: The cost is $190 for the additional course or adds $20 to the monthly payment option.
Middle School Grades 6-8 Online Courses
Middle school marks the final stretch before high school, continuing foundational coursework while introducing a meaningful period of transition. Many students begin looking ahead, exploring their interests, and asking new questions about their future. Development varies widely during these years—some mature quickly while others take longer—but these differences gradually narrow as they move forward. Academically and personally, students encounter new ideas and opportunities that broaden their understanding of the world.
With a strong foundation in skills and worldview, they can navigate this time of change with stability. As middle school concludes, they begin preparing for courses that will shape their high-school paths and help set the stage for long-term success.

NFC Academy High School Grades 9-12 Online Courses
Graduate From NFC Academy 24 Credits Required For Graduation
- ​English, 4 credits
- ​Mathematics, 4 credits. Must include Algebra I and Geometry. Those in the College Preparatory Program must take Algebra II.
- ​Social Studies, 3 credits. World History, American History, and American Government and Economics are required.
- Science, 3 credits. Biology is required. Two additional science courses required with lab component. All Academy science courses are done with virtual labs from Smart Science Labs.
- Physical Education and Health, 1 credit. A total of .5 credit for each is required.
- ​Performing Arts and Practical Arts, 1 credit. Requires each .5 credit. Speech and Business Computer Applications one option for requirement.
- Bible, 1Â credit for each year in attendance at NFC Academy.
Students graduating from NFC Academy must complete the required courses and any electives totaling 24 credit hours.
High School Courses and Your Path to Graduation
Every NFC Academy High School student receives a personalized Path to Graduation each year they are enrolled with us. This plan outlines the 24 credits required for graduation and organizes them across the four years of high school in a clear, manageable sequence.
While some courses—such as English I, II, III, and IV—must be taken in order, and math typically follows a sequence beginning with Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II, many other courses do not require a set progression. Electives and non-sequential courses can be adjusted from year to year based on student interests and academic goals.
Students who choose to participate in Dual Enrollment may see adjustments to their course plan to accommodate college-level coursework.
Our trained staff will work closely with you to create your initial Path to Graduation and will update it annually to ensure you remain on track for successful and timely graduation.
