Introduction to Christian Worldview

Course Description

This course is a required course for all NFC Academy high school students.  Students beginning in ninth grade will have this as a part of their Bible classes and students transferring to NFC Academy after the start of ninth grade will take this course in their first year at NFC Academy.  The course employs a storytelling technique to explore issues related to worldview, ethics, mental and emotional health, and leadership. In Units 1 and 2, students will be taught the essentials of a Christian worldview and then challenged to compare and contrast it with the ideas and beliefs they are exposed to in modern culture. In Unit 3, several ethical dilemmas will be presented, and students will learn to make decisions about them based on the character of God. Unit 4 will guide students through the emotional challenges of things such as depression, grief, relationships, sexuality, and discontent. The final unit uses the stories of Biblical leaders to teach principles of Christian leadership, and demonstrates how to use those principles in true-to-life scenarios.
