Welcome to My Class
—Welcome to My Class – Mrs. Fairra McMahon—
My Classroom At NFC Academy
My name is Fairra McMahon. I am a graduate of the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor’s of Music Education degree, and did graduate work at the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music. In addition I earned my certificate in early childhood education and taught Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten for two years.
I have been teaching for more than 40 years, both classroom and music, predominantly in Christian and homeschool settings. I understand the challenges of being a homeschool parent, as I homeschooled all four of our daughters, prior to teaching at a Christian school. For the past ten years I have served as a resource teacher for the North Florida Christian Academy.
I am a minister’s wife, a mother of four daughters and three sons-in-law, and grandmother of two grandsons, who I have the joy to see virtually every day. I love children and serve my church working with babies and toddlers every Sunday. I also love reading and working with my flower gardens at my home, and spend a lot of my free time pruning and pampering them.
I am an educator at heart and love to see students succeed. I am convinced this happens best when students, parents, and their teachers work together. This is one reason being a resource teacher to homeschool students is such an important part of my life. Helping students accomplish great things brings great joy and satisfaction to me.
Let’s work together to make great things happen!
