I have been teaching with the Academy for over 12 years while also working as a private tutor, homeschool mom, and contract writer for various ministry publications. I love writing and believe that the written word is an incredible gift that God has given to communicate with us and through us. Effective reading and writing are essentially the same as effective listening and speaking – two of life’s most essential skills. We should learn to wield them well!  

My love of words, and the spiritual impact they possess, led me to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of North Florida, and later, a Master of Arts in Youth Ministry from the Southern Baptist Theological seminary. I am certified by the state of Florida in English Language Arts 6-12; K-12 Varying Exceptionalities; and Elementary Education K-6. I also hold a certificate from Cambridge University in English as a Second Language. I have had the opportunity to contribute to many youth ministry publications through LifeWay and YM360 in the form of Bible curriculum, devotionals, and magazine articles.   

I have spent all of my adult life teaching students and serving in youth ministry in various capacities. I love teaching the Bible and equipping students to engage with it, but most of all, I love seeing the power it has to transform lives! I currently teach a middle school Sunday School class and lead various small group Bible Studies while facilitating adult small groups throughout our church. I am the wife of a pastor and the mom of three amazing kids, one fantastic daughter-in-law, and one more soon to be! Each of them love and serve their churches faithfully. In my rare free time, I love to garden, hike, camp, kayak, and tackle DIY projects.
