Middle School Library & Writing Center

Your Student Resource Page is designed to provide you with training and information in a variety of areas that will help you in your studies at NFC Academy. Much of the material you will find on this page is related to effective writing skills and “how to” videos. Writing is often done in most every subject you will take at the Academy.

Use Britannica School and the Gale Library in your research as you write essays and reports for your courses. The Writing Center will provide you with helps when it comes to effective writing as you develop your writing skills.

MIDDLE SCHOOL LIBRARY Britannica School

Our Middle School students in grades 6-8 will have multiple resources for their academic work when they will need to do research or check for more information on a topic. Like all of our students in 1st-12th grade they will be able to use Britannica School as one of their library tools.

Everyone knows the name Britannica and how it is respected as a “go to” resource. Students’ easy login will provide them quick access to all of the features of Britannica School. Some of those features include allowing them to adjust the reading level of a topic and the text-to-speech option. Other features will make their experience with Britannica School an easy one.

As writing continues to increase through the secondary grade levels, students continue to develop their library skills as they progress through middle school.

MIDDLE SCHOOL LIBRARY GALE IN CONTEXT MIDDLE SCHOOL LIBRARY

NFC Academy Middle School students will compliment their research needs by having their access to Gale in Context for Middle School. The Gale in Context series is available in elementary with Gale in Context: Elementary and then complete access of several series in High School.

The Middle School student will be impressed with the details in reference materials in the Gale series, but also will be encouraged to seek additional information as they explore the rich visuals that are available for most research topics.

The Gale series will be easy to access for all users which will include students, teachers, and parents. Whether it is an article, magazine, book, or other reference material Gale in Context will be sure to promote learning. You are ready to start your adventure of writing with Gale in Context.
